Introducing Dr. Jen Breithaupt

Jen Breithaupt has recently joined the L A R Physical Therapy team. Dr. Breithaupt will be working on Wednesday evenings, Fridays and Saturdays to offer patients more scheduling flexibility.

Jen Breithaupt, a Doctor of Physical Therapy, is excited to join L A R Physical Therapy and devote more time to one-on-one manual and specific exercise treatment for each patient to maximize benefits at each session.  Dr. Breithaupt anticipates using her training in core and lumbar stabilization with Leigh’s Pilates and dancer-specific approaches.  Dr. Breithaupt specializes in Functional Movement Screenings, Running Analysis, Cyclist Injury Treatment and Prevention, as well as spinal stabilization. She is thrilled to bring her experience treating runners, cyclists and other athletes to the practice!

Dr. Breithaupt’s favorite part of being a physical therapist is the ability to help a variety of people get back to the activities, hobbies and recreational activities that are important to them.  She enjoys the challenge and problem solving physical therapy requires, especially when treating chronic or nagging injuries people have been dealing with and compensating for. She strongly believes in identifying the underlying issue to treat not only the mobility and strength, but to also work on the neuro muscular re-education to retrain the muscle to better support the body as a whole.

Dr. Breithaupt has just moved to the area from Philadelphia, where she previously worked at Excel and Apex Physical Therapy in Center City Philadelphia, a private outpatient orthopedic clinic. She worked with a wide range of adults from graduate athletes, young professionals, middle-aged weekend warriors and seniors.  In Dr. Breithaupt’s free time she enjoys playing Ultimate Frisbee, cooking and baking with her fiancé and spending time with friends and family. She’s excited to explore the Baltimore and Washington DC areas with new places to eat and activities to experience.
