If you wake up in the morning with a stiff neck, check out our video on neck stretching. It’s a great way to work out kinks from the night, or get your body warmed up in the morning. These are also great to perform periodically throughout your day.
If you wake up with a stiff lower back or hips, try starting your morning with a simple walk. Just 10-20 minutes of walking should help typical age-related stiffness. Walking helps get the blood flowing through your muscles and joints. However, if you continually experience stiffness that persists after 20 minutes of being active in the morning, then you may need to see a physical therapist for an evaluation.
