This month we’re focusing on Farmer Carries. This exercise gives you practice carrying one heavy item on just one side of your body. It’s a great core workout since you’ll use your core to stabilize and ensure that you stay standing up straight, making sure the weight doesn’t pull you to one side.
To perform Farmer Carries, hold a heavy weight in one hand, standing upstraight (using a mirror is a good idea to make sure you’re not compensating one way or the other). Walk back and forth across the room with the weight in hand until you struggle to maintain good form. Then switch sides and repeat.
You can perform this exercise with household objects too if you don’t have a heavy weight.
