Shell Stretch is a great move for relieving back pain and tension. This stretch helps relieve the pain and discomfort that can be caused from standing for long periods of time like when you’re cooking a big feast, or from sitting too long as in car rides or plane trips. In this video I’ll also show how to stretch out your latissimus dorsi, which are the muscles on your sides covering your ribs. These muscles are frequently tight on people and can interfere with one’s range of motion through the shoulders.
This stretch looks similar to Child’s Pose in yoga, however, instead of resting your chest on your knees, you’re going to keep your core engaged and arch your back to stretch it.
To perform the shell stretch, follow along with the video above.
